The price of scanning work is decided by the indexing, the more fields and/or the longer the index, the higher the price.
Documents that can be retrieved and managed by minimal indexing are the most cost effective and keep the searches simpler.
The pricing structure of images per thousand is used because the client invariably knows its own volume of paperwork, thus enabling them to budget accordingly.
